Polymeric Gelators via Self-assembly and Hydrogen Bonding Modulation |
초록 |
Organogelators are interesting self-assembled materials that can immobilize organic liquids at low concentrations through the formation of self-assembled fibrillar networks. Most organogelators are based on the self-assembly of low-molecular-weight compounds via hydrogen bonds. Besides the reversible hydrogels based on block copolymers, homopolymeric organogelators relying on specific intermolecular interactions have been rarely studied. However, polymeric organogelators may yield the gels with improved properties due to the characteristics of polymer chains. The introduction of multiple interacting sites along the backbone is expected to dramatically enhance the extent of the intermolecular interaction network, resulting in a strong physical gel. Here, we report a novel polymeric gelator based on the poly(arylene ether amide), a high-performance polymer consisting of aromatic rings with alternating amide and ether linkages. |
