Metal oxide core-shell submicron spheres were prepared by templating technique with polymer microspheres, and then further heat treated under air atmosphere. The monolayer film consisting of the as-prepared metal oxide core-shell submicron spheres was prepared by simple rubbing technique, which exhibited good capacity retention with a high coulombic efficiency. Morphologies of metal oxide core-shell submicron spheres and monolayer films were characterized by utilizing optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), focused-ion beam SEM, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy and X-ray diffractometry. |
