Microwave Dielectric Properties of CaMgSi2O6-Ca0.9Mg0.1SiO3 Glass Ceramics |

The microwave dielectric properties and phase analysis of (1-x)CaMgSi2O6-(x)Ca0.9Mg0.1SiO3 glass ceramics was investigated. The crystalline phases were identified by diopside with pyroxene structure along with wollastonite structure. With increase of Ca0.9Mg0.1SiO3 content, the fraction of wollastonite structure increased and the peak shifted to lower degree due to the larger Ca ions (1.06Å) partially substituted Mg site (0.78Å). The dielectric constant (ɛr) of decreased with content of Ca0.9Mg0.1SiO3 due to the smaller dielectric constant (ɛr) of CaSiO3 (6.49) and MgSiO3 (6.83) than CaMgSi2O6 (7.1). The density of the specimens was increased with Ca0.9Mg0.1SiO3 content, which improved the quality factor (Qf) of the specimens. The temperature coefficient of resonant frequency (TCF) of the specimens increased with Ca0.9Mg0.1SiO3 content. The dependence of microwave dielectric properties on sintering temperature and crystal structural characteristics also discussed. |
