Multilayer films composed of poy(allyamine hydrochloride) (PAH) and sulfonated poly (2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene oxide) (sPPO) were self-assembled via layer by layer (LbL technique on the surface of quarz glass or Nafion as a substrate. Then, diazido-stilbenedisulfonic acid disodium salt was infiltrated into the multilayer film for photo-crosslinking reaction. In order to check the chemical stability of the multilayer films, erosion experiment against alkali solution was carried out for both uncrosslinked and crosslinked films, and the changes in UV absorptivity was monitored by UV spectroscopy. Crosslinked film showed better chemical durability against alkali solution, and also showed improved membrane properties, such as lower methanol permeability and higher proton conductivity. |
