Since the danger of anthrax as an acute disease, the development of a rapid response, high selectivity and sensitivity detector for the anthrax biomarker is of immense significance. Here, we demonstrate a fluorescence signal light for detecting dipicolinic acid (DPA) as a unique anthrax biomarker with high sensitivity and selectivity using screen-printing method. The ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA)-based macrocycle complex binds with europium and terbium on a flexible polyethersulfone film could be used as a highly sensitive and fast detector for Bacillus anthracis spore. Moreover deposition of fluorescent detecting moieties by screen-printing method provides direct visual image of the fluorescent patterns when interacting with DPA. Screen-printed lanthanide-based anthrax detector offered a practical application via simple fabrication and detection. |
