High specific surface area sodium silicate based hydrophilic silica aerogel beads with large pore volume at an ambient pressure |
초록 |
We report a method to synthesize transparent mesoporous hydrophilic silica aerogel beads by ambient pressure drying (APD). The beads were prepared by acid-base sol-gel polymerization of sodium silicate in aqueous ammonia solution. To minimize shrinkage during drying, the wet silica beads were modified using trimethylchlorosilane (TMCS). Highly porous hydrophilic silica aerogel beads were obtained after the heat treatment of the modified beads. The products obtained via the proposed inexpensive approach have superior properties. |
