In this study, superhydrophobic particles with micelle structure were prepared by using silicon dioxide and Trimethoxy(octadecyl)silane (OTS). It should be pointed out that only ethyl alcohol was used as a solvent during all process, and no toxic solvent (e.g. toluene and acids) were used. The particles were dispersed in ethyl alcohol and simply sprayed to create superhydrophobic surfaces. In addition, polyurethane was used as an adhesive to prepare super-hydrophobic surface by spraying the particles on various substrates. In order to analyze the behavior and assembly process of the particles on the polyurethane, the amount of sprayed particles was controlled systematically. The amount of sprayed particles was adjusted at 0.05-0.7 ml/㎠. After curing the poly urethane with the controlled particles, we analyzed it through contact angle test, roughness analysis, and SEM. Based on the results, the assembly mechanism of super-hydrophobic particles on the polyurethane was discussed. |
