제목 Use of Temperature as a Primary Variable to Promote Characters of Catalytic Surface Functionalized with SOY2- (Y=3 or 4) for Low-Temperature NOX Reduction
초록 SO2 is regarded as a notorious poison to deteriorate catalytic surfaces discovered for selective catalytic NOX reduction (SCR). SO2, however, can also serve as a benevolent modifier of the surfaces upon its interplay with O2 during the SCR, leading to the formation of SOY2- functionalities grafted on the surfaces (Y= 3 or 4). SOY2- species can act as Brönsted acid sites which in turn interact with NOX counterparts to produce N2 and H2O. We dialed in the temperature exploited to functionalize the surface with SOY2- species for its optimization with regards to acidic and redox features, both of which are essential to expedite the SCR. The modified surfaces were characterized and were contrasted with the use of the SCR runs to clarify ‘What is the optimal SOY2- functionalization temperature adequate for the catalyst to maximize its NOX conversions, N2 selectivities, and tolerance to hydro-thermal aging or poisons?’.
