Solving Future CO2 Challenges and Air Pollution in Automotive Industry |

There is a recognized need for lowering greenhouse gas emissions from mobile sources in order to address concerns regarding global climate change. Advancement in engine technologies offer significant improvement in fuel economy as well as lower NOx emissions inherent in the nature of low temperature combustion; however, to be in compliance with strict emission standards such as LEVIII and EU6d, the low exhaust temperatures in such systems raise a major concern regarding the removal of NOx and other air pollutants such as hydrocarbon and CO emissions. In this presentation, recent research trend and proposed ideas from both component and system level technology development via fundamental approach in the automotive world will be discussed. |
