The recent realization of tandem solar cells has improved the performance of OPVs, however, many aspects remain to consider for optimizing the performance of organic tandem cells such as the current-match in a serial device. Computer simulation would provide important information for designing the device architecture and predicting the performance of organic tandem solar cells. In this study, a device model was built to describe the current-voltage characteristics of organic tandem solar cells and also to consider the effects of the optical interference between layers of organic solar cells. With the device model, extensive devices were simulated varying the configurations or properties of intermediate layer. By doing this, we can correlate the structure of the device to the device performance of organic tandem cells and also predict how the configuration of device is tailored to meet photovoltaic requirement. |
