CD44 is closely associated with cancer growth, including proliferation, metastasis, invasion and angiogenesis. Hyaluronan (HA) as immune-neutral polysaccharide are ubiquitous in the human body and could especially inhibit tumor growth and metastatic inflammatory responses by interacting with CD44. Hence, HA are widely used in targeted diagnosis and treatment of specific cancer. We prepared HA conjugated magnetic nanoparticles (HA-MNPs) as targeting MR imaging agents by regulating HA ratios for comparative evaluation of targeting efficiencies using MR imaging. HA-MNPs exhibited not only good biocompatibility but also high MR sensitivity with targeting efficiency. This suggestion can be further applied to targeted imaging and drug delivery. |
