As environment concerns grow and the industry develops, the demand for eco-friendly and high functional nanocomposite is increasing. The CNF extracted from wood is environmentally friendly and has excellent properties, so it is in the spotlight as a filler for addition to polymer. If CNF is added in a high content, the content of plastic is reduced, so eco-friendly, high strength material can be expected. Therefore, in this study, HDPE that can be used as a basic material in various fields because it is cheap and easy to process was selected and compound with CNF. But, when hydrophilic CNF is compounded with hydrophobic HDPE, non-uniform dispersion and surface compatibility must be taken care of. Here, silica particles were formed on the surface of the CNF for weakening van der Waals force among the CNFs. By adding the CNF content in an amount of 5~50wt%, the effect on surface modification at high content and the mechanical, rheological properties of the composite are analyzed. |
