제목 Aqueous-phase bio-oil derived bio-jet fuel: production of medium-chain oxygenates via C-C bonding formation reaction of low-weight compounds
초록 Bio-jet fuel is receiving extensive interest as a drop-in fuel in terms of carbon neutrality and sustainability. It is known that the crude bio-oil can be converted into bio-fuels by using hydro-upgrading processes. However, aqueous-phase bio-oil contains large amount of the lightweight oxygenates, which still lie out of the range of the carbon number for jet fuel after undergoing hydro-upgrading reactions, owing to their low-carbon numbers. The yield of bio-jet fuel derived from the crude bio-oil, therefore, is relatively low. In the present work, low-molecule compounds in the aqueous phase bio-oil were converted to larger carbon chains via aldol condensation reaction in order to enhance the yield of useful liquid fuels from lignocellulosic biomass. Moreover, ketonization of carboxylic acid was investigated to remove acetic acid, the most abundant carbonyl compound in the aqueous phase bio-oil for further aldol condensation.
