Preparation of UV curable acrylates with the improved light diffusibility and adhesion properties on silver film |

Silver film has been used in various applications due to its intrinsic properties such as conductivity and reflectivity. When the surface of silver film is exposed without any protection layer, it is very vulnerable to the attacks such as scratches, so the protection layer is generally coated on silver. However, the presence of surface layer may decrease the spectral quality and durability of silver film, which results in the serious limitation, especially when it is used as reflective layer. In this work, UV curable acrylates based on urethane acrylate oligomer and multi-functional acrylate were used. In order to improve light diffusibility and adhesion on silver film, the new formulations containing the structurally-controlled inorganic particles were suggested. The reflectivity, the strength of adhesion and the durability of the hard coated silver film were characterized and then the effects of inorganic components on the optical properties of laminated film were investigated. |
