제목 | Synthesis and Properties of Silicone containing Hydrogels |
초록 | Hydrogels are cross-linked polymers that absorb many times their weight in water,which swell but do not dissolve when brought into contact with water. We prepared new silicone containing hydrogels and then evaluate physical properties of gels such as water content, contact, tensile strength and etc. AIBN was used as a radical initiator. Hydrogels were prepared from various molar ratios of 2-hydroxyethylmethacrylate (HEMA), ethylene glycol dimethacrylate and 2-hydroxy-3-(trimethylsilyl)oxy)propyl methacrylate (HSM). 2-hydroxy-3-(trimethylsilyl)oxy)propyl methacrylate (HSM) was synthesized in 92% yield starting from glycerol mono methacrylate and chlorotrimethylsilane. Evaluating the water contents and contact angles of the hydrogels, we found that the content of silicone increased, water contents decreased and contact angles increased.
