Thiophene-based all-conducting amphiphilic diblock copolymers |

Regioregular poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) readily self-assembles to form a well-ordered two-dimensional lamellar structure that displays an excellent charge carrier mobility. P3HT is, therefore, one of the most popular and attractive conducting polymers for studying the fundamental principles and mechanisms that apply to organic solar cells (OPVs). Recently, we have successfully synthesized a rod–rod thiophene-based all-conducting amphiphilic diblock copolymer (P3HT-b-PEGT) with an extremely narrow P3HT block molecular weight distribution using a one-pot Grignard metathesis reaction. In this talk, the synthesis of the block copolymers and their self-assembly behaviors will be presented. |
