Preparation and Characterization of Polycarbonate Optical Film possessing the core-shell Nanoparticle. |

Silica-PMMA core-shell nanoparticle (CSN) was prepared as the modifier for the poor thermal property of polycarbonate system, which is known to be the potential transparent substrate for the flexible display. This system was designed to prevent the serious agglomeration of inorganic nano-particles within the polymer matrix, which frequently results in the deterioration of transparency of optical film. In this work, Silica-PMMA core-shell nanoparticle (CSN) prepared by two step processes was added into polycarbonate system as a filler. The transparent nonocomposite film with the thickness of 100 um was prepared by the solvent casting and its optical and thermal properties were characterized using the UV-VIS spectrometer, and TMA. Then the effects of core-shell nano particle on the coefficient of thermal expansion of the polycarbonate were discussed. |
