Novel Injectable Biphasic Calcium Phosphate-Methyl Cellulose Composites for Bone Substitute Materials and Their In-vitro Study for Bioconductivity |
초록 |
Biphasic calcium phosphate (BCP) ceramic was widely investigated in the field of dentistry and medicine such as for artificial teeth and hip replacements. However, its low mechanical properties give the drawback for using an injectable bone material. In this work, the synthesis of BCP-methyl cellulose composites were investigated using polymerized hardener to improve the mechanical properties. The biphasic calcium phosphate nano powder with spherical shape was synthesized using microwave assisted synthesis process. The synthesized BCP powder was about 70-100 nm in diameter. The injectable BCP composites were cemented using methyl cellulose (MC, C7H14O5). The microstructures of the resulting composites were investigated depending on the mass ratio of BCP and methyl cellulose using SEM, EDS, XRD and TEM techniques. Mechanical properties such as relative density, elastic modulus were also evaluated. In particular, the in-vitro studies using human osteoblast-like MG-63 and osteoclast-like Raw 264.7 cells were carried out for evaluating the bioconductivity of BCP-methyl cellulose composite. |
