Graphene Oxide Fluorescent Biosensors for the Selective Detection of Dopamine |

It is of great interest to develop a biosensor capable of detecting target molecules without the use of antibodies because they are generally very expensive and susceptible to perturbations by environmental changes. Herein, we present fluorescent graphene oxide (GO)-based biosensors for the selective detection of dopamine. Chemically-modified GO (CGO) retained its original structure and intense fluorescence. The fluorescence response of CGO to dopamine and other interferences was comprehensively examined, and it was found that the fluorescence of CGO was selectively quenched by only dopamine. The CGO-based biosensor allowed the sensitive and selective detection of dopamine without the use of an antibody. |
