Efficiency of low-cost photovoltaic cells using conjugated polymers has steadily increased through the development of bulk heterojunction(BHJ) structures made by blending a conjugated polymer and a fullerene derivative, but many efforts for improvement of BHJ heterojunction are still required for achieving high device performance. Despite a lot of attempts to modify Poly(3-hexylthiophene)(P3HT) to enhance efficiency of the devices, P3HT has still been used in the BHJ photovoltaic cells, because these attempts to introduce various functional groups in the P3HT cause high crystallinity of the P3HT film to destroy. In this study, we report on synthesis and characteristic of modified P3HT to increase open circuit voltage(Voc) introducing an oxygen in the alkyl side chain. In addition, we comfirmed the device performance fabricated by using modified P3HT. |
