Interpenetrating polymer networks(IPN) based on diglycidyl ether of bisphenol-A(DGEBA) and dimethacrylate prepolymer were blended and cured by using benzoyl peroxide(BPO) and 4,4·-methylenedianiline(MDA) as initiating and curing agent, repectively. Kinetic study during IPN formation was carried out at 80, 100, and 120℃and reaction was monitored with dynamic scanning calorimetry(DSC) and fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR). Sterical hinderence might suppress the curing reactions resulting in increased activation energies of the IPN compared with those of the individual components. The final conversion of the IPN was decreased as compared with those of the each components. The reaction parameters were briefly calculated and provided. |
