제목 Synthesis of Hyperbranched Aliphatic Polyesters by Hafnium(Ⅳ) Salts
초록 Hyperbranched polymers have gained much attention due to the availability of these materials by one-pot synthesis and their interesting properties such as low viscosity and good solubility. Among several types of hyperbranched polymers, hyperbranched aliphatic polyesters were studied intensively because of their biocompatible and biodegradable properties. In this study, Hyperbranched polyesters with controlled end functional groups (OH and COOH groups) have been prepared by an A2 +B3 approach reacting tri(hydroxymethyl) ethane and succinic acid in the presence of Hafnium(Ⅳ) catalyst. Compared with other strong acid catalyst (ex. p-TSA, H2SO4), Hafnium (Ⅳ)-salts did not induce the transesterification and etherification at all. Since this catalyst did not cause any side reactions, it was possible to synthesize well defined hyperbranched aliphatic polyesters. Structure analysis by means of 1H NMR and MALDI-TOF mass spectra showed the presence of two functional end groups.
