제목 The effect of photon wavelength on the production of fatty acids from a green microalga, Chlorella vulgaris
초록 Photosynthetic organisms may be a perfect solution for the major problems of the mankind: global warming and energy crisis. Microalgae can fix carbon dioxide into energy-intensive chemicals. The important factors to accumulate lipids in microalgal body are nitrogen depletion and properties of light such as spectra quality and intensity. This study investigated the effect of light quality on total lipid concentration and fatty acid profile using a green eukaryotic microalga, Chlorella vulgaris. The results showed that different colored photons can be used to slightly alter the lipid concentration and fatty acid composition.
