제목 | Synthesis and Characterization of the Thermo-Sensitive Hydrogel Based on Methyl 2 – Acetamido Acrylate and Methyl Acrylate |
초록 | Developing novel thermo-responsive polymer gels is of great interest because of their many potential applications. A key issue in their development is controlling hydrophilic-hydrophobic balance of the polymer. In this study, we also found that delicate adjustment of hydrophilic-hydrophobic balance is critical in achieving thermosensitivity from methyl 2 – acetamido acrylate (MAA) and methyl acrylate (MA) copolymers, a new chemically cross-linked thermo-responsive polymer gels. We prepared chemically cross-linked MMA-MA copolymers in various monomer compositions using a cross-linker, 2,2'-[(1,4-dioxo-1, 4-butanediyl) diimino] bis (2-propenoic acid). Only the hydrogel containing 18mol% of MAA showed Low Critical Solution Temperature (LCST) behavior at the temperature range between 50 °C and 60 °C as shown in Figure 1. This presentation will further discuss the thermal properties of the MAA-MA hydrogels and the effect of salts, pH, polymerization time, and molar ratio of monomers and the cross-linker on their thermosensitivity of hydrogels.
