Herein, we describe the integration of human olfactory receptors (hORs) and conducting polymer (CP) nanotubes into a field-effect-transistor (FET) platform suitable for electronic control.Carboxylated polypyrrole nanotubes (CPNTs) were fabricated by the chemical copolymerization of pyrrole and pyrrole-3-carboxylic acid (P3CA) using cylindrical micelle templates. To fabricate FET platform, The CPNTs were anchored on an amine-functionalized microelectrode substrate, and then hORs was immobilized on the CPNTs through the chemical bond. In the results, this FET sensor showed the possibility of specific odorant detection and high-performance sensing ability to target molecules. |
