Recently, metal-decorated CNTs have attracted particular interest because of their potential applications. However, there are difficulties in dispersing metal nanoparticles with uniform dispersion and regular size onto CNTs. To solve these problems, the surface modifications of CNTs have been developed. Among the surface functionalizations, amidation via carboxyl groups on the surface of acid-treated CNTs has been frequently used for connecting metal nanoparticles to CNTs. In this study, we report a simple and effective process for preparing high-dispersed metal-decorated CNTs by DCC-activated amidation. |
