제목 Novel Highly Fluorinated Perfluorocyclobutane (PFCB) Polymers for Local Network Communication Devices
초록 Highly fluorinated PFCB polymers, poly[1,4-bis(trifluorovinyloxy)benzene] (PTFVOB), poly{1,2-bis[4-[(trifluorovinyloxy)phenyl]hexafluorocyclopentene]} (PFP-HFC) and poly[1,4-bis(trifluorovinyl)- benzene] (PTFVB) were synthesized for potential local communication devices. 1,4-Bis(trifluorovinyl)benzene (TFVB) was prepared by 1,4-diiodobenzene with perfluoroalkenylzinc reagents using Pd(PPh3)4 in DMF. Trifluorovinyl ether monomers (TFVE), TFVOB and FP-HFC, were prepared from phenolic reagent by fluoro-alkylation via 1,2-dibromotretrafluoroethane and by dehalogenation via zinc. DSC thermogram of TFVOB showed a thermal polymerization exotherm that began near at 160 oC with a maximum at 253 oC and FP-HPC showed at Tonset = 140 oC, Tmax = 244 oC and exothermic enthalpy, 286.7 J/g. When monomers were polymerized, CF=CF2) stretching vibration peak at 1833 cm-1 disappeared and PFCB ring peaks at 965 cm-1 were newly observed. From quantitative analysis of C-H vibration of TFVOB in the infrared region was 76 % lower than the absorption of benzene and 40 % lower than that of difluorobenzene. TFVB of 5 % weight loss was measured at 150 oC and TFVE polymers were nearly at 400 oC. Tg of TFVOB was 41 oC and Tg of PFP-HFC was 98 oC. PTFVOB and PFP-HFC had low refractive indices of 1.4446∼1.4698 and low birefringence of 0.0007 - 0.0009. The optical losses of PFCB polymers were investigated for step index fiber with air cladding.
