Magnetic Nanoparticles including copolymer coated core/shell structure was expected to be biocompatible and drug carrier for biomedical applications. Copolymer (PPDX/TEGDP) coated core/shell nanoparticles as nanocarriers for drug delivery should be efficient and suitable for loading drug molecules. Biodegradable poly(p-dioxanone) (PDX) was grown on Si-OH groups of a Fe3O4@SiO2 by surface-initiated, ring-opening polymerization (SI-ROP) of 1,4-dioxan-2-one. Considering the material importance of functional materials, the method described herein would be beneficial in many areas, such as drug carrier for systemic drug delivery. The resulting inorganic/organic hybrid copolymer coated core-shell nanoparticles were characterized by SEM(Scanning Electron Microscope), TEM(Transmission Electron Microscope), EDX(Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy), FT-IR(Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy), DSL(Dynamic Light Scattering), TGA(Thermogravimetric Analysis). |
