Synthesis and Characterization of N-Pyridylindazoles |

The wide-ranging biological activities associated with Indazoles and N-substituted indazoles, ensures that the synthesis of this important ring system continues to attract the attention of synthetic organic chemists. Pyridyl moieties are also well known for its applications in the medicinal chemistry field. Here we report a simple and efficient method to synthesis pyridyl indazoles. Several cyclic ketoesters have been synthesized by the reaction of acetoacetic esters with aromatic aldehydes in presence of methylamine solution and those used as effective synthons. The treatment of 2-hydrazino pyridine with the cyclic ketoesters results in the formation of pyridyl indazoles. The products were characterized by GC-Mass, NMR spectral results and the structure has been proposed. |
