Electroconductive hydrogels are 3-dimensional continuous conducting materials and they are composed of hydrogels and conductive materials. They can be applied to electro-stimulated biomaterials for electro-stimulated systems, like biosensors, neural prosthesis and electro-stimulated drug delivery system. In this study, alkyne-functionalized poly(vinyl alcohol) based hydrogel film was deposited on ITO-coated glass electrodes by electro-controlled alkyne–azide cycloaddition, generating Cu(I) catalyst by applying reduction potential of Cu(II) ions. Carbon nanotubes are incorporated into the hydrogels to improve their electrical properties. The synthesized films were characterized by surface profilometry, UV-vis spectroscopy, microscopy, and cyclic voltammetry. The electroconduictive hydrogel films were applied to electro-controlled drug delivery system. |
