The waterborne polyurethane (WBPU) adhesives were prepared by pre-polymer process using two different types of chain extender, namely ethylenediamine and N-[3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl]-ethylenediamine. This research aims to explore the crosslinking of silicon-based chain extender in complementing WBPU by boosting flexibility, water resistance and adhesive strength. The optimum adhesive strength depend on silicon-based chain extender content and processing condition such as pressing temperature and pressure during preparation of adhesive of nylon fabrics. |
