The outstanding electronic, mechanical, and structural properties of graphene sheet make it a promising candidate for next generation nanocomposite materials. Production of graphene nanosheets from graphite or graphite oxide is still challenge due to irrespective of agglomeration after the exfoliation into single sheet. The mechanism of the reduction of the graphene oxide with reducing agent such as hydrazine monohydrate is still unclear; however, this technique is the most promising approach in the bulk production of graphene sheets. Here, we report results of our recent investigation for the development of polymer/graphene nanocomposites. We found that the treatment of oxidized graphite with diazonium salt resulted in conductive nano graphene sheets from which we could prepare conductive polymer nanocomposites at relatively low content of the conductive filler. |
