제목 Synthesis and Characterization of Second-order Nonlinear Optical Chromophore containing Heterocyclic Building Block (VI)
초록 We have designed and synthesized novel nonlinear optical (NLO) chromophores containing heterocyclic bridge group with respect of the push-pull model. The quantum mechanical properties were studied by using the semiempirical calculation and the energy-diagram for NLO chromophore was obtained with the electrochemical and spectroscopic analysis. We studied microscopic origin of the nonlinear optical activity in terms of the first order molecular hyperpolarizability (β). Effect of increase of the conjugation length and donor/acceptor strength was studied on the band gap energy and HOMO/LUMO energy. We synthesized three compounds having one, two, or three NLO chromophores in one molecule respectively. In this work, we investigated the effect of the chromophore type on the electro-optic property.
