제목 Preparation and Characterization of Novel Porous SIS-impregnated Alginate Scaffold
초록 Alginate, a naturally occurring biopolymer extracted from brown algae (kelp), has good biocompatibility and biodegradability. Alginate can be ionically crosslinked by the addition of divalent cations in aqueous solution. Porcine small intestinal submucosa (SIS) has been investigated as a source of collagenous tissue with the potential to be used as a biomaterial because of its inherent strength and biocompatibility. In order to develop a tissue engineered scaffold, porous matrices containing alginate and SIS were fabricated by freeze drying method at -20℃. We observed that SIS/alginate scaffolds were highly porous with good interconnection of the pore structure. SIS/alginate scaffold has been characterized by SEM, mercury porosimeter, DSC, swelling test, and so on. We evaluated the adherence of NIH/3T3 into an SIS/alginate scaffolds. In conclusion, it seems that SIS plays on important role of SIS/alginate scaffolds for tissue engineering.
