Polydiacetylene-attached hollow titania nanoparticles were synthesized by the reaction with 10,12-pentacosadiynoic acid (PDA). The surface of hollow titania was modified with a silane coupling agent, 3-aminopropyltrimethoxy silane (APTMS). Modified PDA (NHS-PDA) was also modified by the esterification of N-hydroxy-succinimide (NHS) and 10,12-pentacosadiynoic acid (PDA) by using 4-pyrrolidinopyridine as a catalyst. PDA attached TiO2s were prepared by the reaction between modified hollow TiO2 nanoparticles and NHS-PDA. Products were then purified by column chromatography. PDA moieties were polymerized by the photochemical 1,4-addition reaction. These modified hollow TiO2 nanoparticles were characterized with 1H NMR, 13C NMR and IR. |
