Boron nitride nanotubes (BNNTs) are not still available as a commercial grade. One of the possible commercial production processes would be ball milling-annealing process due to easy scale-up. However, BNNT synthesized by ball-milling process are contaminated with lots of impurities including BN nanoparticles and amorphous materials from Boron source materials and milling ball debris. Therefore, for commercial applications, purification process needs to be developed. In this study centrifugal separation process by differences in density of the mixture ingredients is currently developed. And in order to enhance recovery yield and efficiency, BNNT surface was modified by amine terminated polymers. Purity of BNNT was checked by SEM and EDX analysis and Raman spectroscopy. |
