The vinylurethane macromonomers (VUMs) were successfully synthesized by the reaction of isocyanate-terminated pre-polyurethane (from PEG-400 to PEG-8000) with various monomer units (MAAm, AAm, 2-HEMA, and 2-HEA) and applied to the dispersion polymerization of styrene (St) and methyl methacrylate (MMA) in ethanol. The existence of the vinyl terminal group in the L-VUMs and C-VUMs was verified using FT-IR, 1H-NMR, and 13C-NMR spectra and crosslinked PS and PMMA particles prepared by reaction with macromonomer (L-VUM and C-VUM) was confirmed using FT-IR, 1H-NMR, and 13C-NMR spectra. |
