Surface modification of poly (L-lactide-co-ε-caprolactone) nanofibers with gelatin and their effects on cellular responses of human mesenchymal stem cells. |
초록 |
Extracellular matrix (ECM) which consists of various proteins and polysaccharides is responsible for maintaining many cellular activities. Recently, electrospinning method has been used to mimic the structural properties of ECM. Surface modifications of synthetic polymers have been applied to control cell function effectively and to improve cell-substrate interactions. In this study, we developed gelatin-modified poly(L-lactic acid-co-ε-caprolactone) (PLCL) nanofiber to mimic structural and functional properties of ECM. The cellular function on the nanofiber was examined using human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSCs). Cellular responses on the gelatin-modified PLCL nanofiber were significantly increased with respect to cell adhesion and proliferation. In addition, differentiation of hMSCs was accelerated on the gelatin-modified PLCL nanofiber. These results indicate that the biomimetic materials may provide a useful strategy for designing an ideal scaffold for tissue engineering. |
