Electrolyzed-reduced water (ERW) is widely used for drinking by people in Asia because of its properties including scavenging reactive oxygen species (ROS). In the present study, we investigated the effect of ERW on acute ethanol-induced hangover in SD (Sprague-Dawley) rat. Animals were fed with distilled water and ERW, respectively. After 30 min, all animals were administrated with 40% ethanol. Blood was taken from tail vein at 1 h, 3 h, and 5 h. Liver tissues and retro-orbital plexus bloodwere collected at 24 h. |
