Shape Memory Carbon Nanotube Composite Fibers Using Electrospinning |

Composite fibers composed of carbon nanotube and shape memory polyurethane were prepared by electrospinning. Functionalization of carbon nanotube was carried out with acid treatment and ultrasonication, and was evidenced by FT-IR and NMR spectroscopic measurements. The composite nanofibers could be obtained by electrospinning the nanotube/polyurethane solution. Morphology, mechanical and thermal properties of fibers were investigated with their shape memory effect. Utilization of carbon nanotube having a good electrical conductivity leads to the possibility of electroactive shape memory material.
