Temperature dependence of the photoluminescence properties of cesium lead halide perovskite quantum dots |

We investigate temperature dependent photoluminescence properties of colloidal CsPbX3 (X= Br, I, and mixed Br/I) QD samples in the temperature range 20 K to 290 K. Temperature dependent PL experiments reveal thermal quenching of photoluminescence, blue shift of optical band gap, and linewidth broadening for all CsPbX3 QD samples as increasing temperature. Interestingly, a spectrally separated side emission peaks from the excitonic photoluminescence peaks are observed both CsPbBr3 and CsPb(Br/I)3 alloy QD samples when temperature below ~ 250 K. The side emission peak in the CsPbBr3 QD sample is located at lower energy compared band edge peak, whereas that of CsPb(Br/I)3 alloy QD sample has higher energy than the band edge peak. By carefully examining the asymmetric PL spectra, the origins of asymmetric PL in low temperature could be attributed by shallow defect emission which is spectrally separated from the band edge PL for the CsPbBr3 QD sample, and partial phase separation for the CsPb(Br/I)3 QD sample. |
