제목 Phase Behavior of Star-shaped PS-b-PMMA
초록 Star-shaped polystyrene-block-poly(methyl methacrylate) copolymer (PS-b-PMMA) was synthesized by using α-cyclodextrin (α-CD) as a core of the star-shape. Hydroxyl groups in the α-CD were substituted with bromine by esterification and it was used for atom transfer radical polymerization. We controlled the molecular weight and block compositions of block copolymer. Those block copolymers were characterized by gel permeation chromatography and nuclear magnetic resonance. Morphology of Star-shaped block copolymer was characterized by TEM and small angle X-ray scattering. We could observe phase shift of star-shaped PS-b-PMMA comparing to linear PS-b-PMMA. Also, we cut star-shaped block copolymers by hydrolysis of ester group linking cyclodextrin and linear block copolymer to compare morphologies. We could observe that morphology of cut linear block copolymer was different from Star-shaped block copolymer.
