제목 Ultra-fine black colored particles of P(MMA-co-EGDMA) by dispersion polymerization for Electrophoretic Displays(EPDs)
초록 Ultra-fine black particles of ranging in diameter from 1 to 3μm sized have been prepared by dispersion polymerization in a methanol and water mixture with colorless vinyl monomers and non-polymerizable sudan black B dyes. Both the ratio of the methanol to water dispersion medium and the polymeric stabilizer concentration were found to be having a significant effect on the particle size. The important role of the stabilizer concentration is the particle formation step, where it determines the particle stability and the final particle size. These can affect the extent of aggregation of nuclei by changing the adsorption rate of stabilizer and the viscosity of the dispersion medium, resulting in smaller particles.
