제목 PS/CNT Nanocomposite under Twin-screw Extruder
초록 Carbon nanotube(CNT) has lots of interest due to its unique structural, mechanical, and electronic properties. But homogeneous dispersion of CNT in polymer matrix is difficult because of the agglomeration between CNTs. In this study, the polystyrene was mixed with various amounts of CNTs in mechanical mixer. The PS/CNT nanocomposites were prepared in the twin-screw extruder with varying the barrel temperatures. The dispersion of CNT in PS matrix was determined by Field-Emission Scanning Elctron Microscope(FE-SEM) and Transmission Electron Microscopy(TEM). The thermal and mechanical properties of the nanocomposites were characterized with Differential Scanning Calorimetry(DSC), Thermogravimetry Analysis(TGA) and Universal Testing Mechine(UTM). According to SEM results, it can be said that it can be that CNTs were well-dispersed in PS matrix by applying mechanical elongational force.
