제목 Application of Small Intestinal Submucosa (SIS)for a Biological Dressings for Wound Healing
초록 Very recently, wound dressings are used as a temporary wound covering to promote wound healing and decrease wound contamination. Porcine small intestinal submucosa (SIS) as a new material mainly composed of collagen and glycosaminoglycan, has been widely used as organ reconstructions without immuno-rejection responses.
SIS dressings were fabricated into gel and cream form with poloxamer 407 and various waxy agents. SIS powder used to make that dressings was prepared by lyophilizing and freeze-milling and SIS fluid by grinding with homogeniser and filtering. The effects of each dosage forms on the wound site were evaluated by the contraction rates of wounds. The epithelium and dermis of SIS contained dosage forms-treated wounds were thicker than those of control by means of a hiotological analysis with hematoxylin-eosin staining.
From these results, SIS is regarded as an appropriate biodegradable material able to heal the wound like a burn in substitution of the traditional artificial composite materials.
