Gemini surfactants, Diehtylene glycol monoethyl ether Dicarboylates, has been synthesized through the esterification of Succinic acid, Glutaric acid to Diethylene glycol monoethyl ether and were obtain in 75~86 % yields. The structure of the synthetic compounds were confirmed by FT-IR and 1H-NMR spectrum. Surface tension were measured and critical micelle concentration were evaluated. Emulsion stability was identified by using particle size analysis and zeta-potential measurements. So Diehtylene glycol monoethyl ether Dicarboylates showed excellent properties and expected to be applied as cosmetic O/W emulsifier. |
