제목 Vinyl Functional Group Effects on Mechanical and Thermal Properties of Silica Filled SR/NR Compounds
초록 The effect of vinyl functional group attaching to silicone rubber chain on mechanical properties of silica-filled silicone rubber (SR)/natural rubber (NR) compound was investigated upon torque maximum value, tensile strength, tensile modulus, hardness, tear strength and tan. Thermal properties including TGA, DSC and heat resistance were also studied. The compound was cured with curing systems of sulfur, peroxide and peroxide/sulfur combination. The results showed that the presence of vinyl group helped improve mechanical and thermal properties of SR/NR compound. The optimum curing system for SR/NR compound was peroxide/sulfur combination. The degree of dispersion of silica in the rubber matrix was also examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM).
