제목 Diffraction Color Induced by Self-Ordering of Silica Particles
초록 Uniformly sized silica particles were prepared by low-temperature sol-gel process with tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS). The size of silica particle was controlled by changing concentration of TEOS and time of sol-gel reaction (Figure 1). Ordered arrays were fabricated with these size-controlled particles by solvent evaporation method (Figure 2)1. These arrays can transmit a light of specific wavelength related to particle size2. We can confirm this wavelength using UV transmission spectroscopy. The minimum transmission in UV spectrum was blue-shifted by decrease in particle size, which can be explained with Bragg’s diffraction.
