Application of carbon nanotubes(CNTs) has been restricted by aggregation caused by van der Waals interaction and the resulting difficulty of controlling individual nanotubes. Amphiphilic block copolymers have been used as a dispersant of CNTs with the advantage of their non-covalent way. In this study, we employed poly(styrene-b-4 vinyl pyridine), poly(styrene-b-acrylic acid) and hydroxylated poly(styrene-b-butadiene-b-styrene) for dispersing CNTs, and individualized the nanotubes by the adsorption of block copolymer micelles on the surface of the nanotubes. In addition, the CNTs with self assembly of block copolymer produced unique hierarchical microstructure. The thin films prepared from the dispersed solution by spin coating are highly transparent, suggesting a possible application of transparent electrode. The improvement of conductivity was achieved by incorporating metal nanoparticle into the micelles. We investigate the effect of the species and amount of nanoparticle. |
