Catalytic properties of nano-sized palladium on polymer resin |

Palladium-doped polymer resins have prepared for catalytic oxygen removal. Catalytic oxygen removal has used in technical applications such as power plant and semiconductor industries. Ion-exchange resins were used as support materials for immobilization of nano-sized palladium. In this study, the nano-sized palladium-doped ion-exchange resins were synthesized and used as a catalyst for removal of dissolved oxygen(DO) in water. The hydrogen used as a reducing agent is fed into batch type reactor and react with dissolved oxygen at surface of palladium cluster on anion-exchange resin. Dissolved oxygen in water was changed into water by catalytic reaction with hydrogen. The DO concentration in water diminished from 7.5 ppm to 3.4 ppb using the Pd-doped polymer resin. |
